FirePower CO2 fire extinguishers with Key Points

Our FirePower Carbon Dioxide (CO2) fire extinguishers are the 2kg Aluminium (Model 901A), 5kg Aluminium (Model 902A) and 2kg Polished Aluminium (Model 901P).

These extinguishers are Kitemarked to BS EN3,

They are manufactured from lightweight aluminium alloy cylinders with a red paint finish. Both the 2kg and 5kg extinguishers have brass valves.

These fire extinguishers have squeeze grip operation, and the 2kg models have frost free horns fitted as standard.

For Class B firesThe polished aluminium model has a clear polyester powder coating. All models come complete with a wall bracket.

Carbon dioxide is discharged as a white cloud which smothers the fire by eliminating its oxygen. It is effectivefor Class B flammable liquid fires and is electrically non-conductive.

Carbon Dioxide (CO2) Fire Extinguishers - Key Points:

- Red Body (Can also be provided in Chrome finish)

- Are best for Class B fires (Suitable for flammable liquids)

- Are safe to use on electrical fires

Carbon Dioxide (CO2) fire extinguishers contain pure carbon dioxide. It’s most suited for use on Class B fires (fires involving flammable liquids such as paint, petrol or oil) but it’s also safe to use on electrical fires. The carbon dioxide (CO2) works to smother the fire by depriving it of oxygen.

Carbon Dioxide (CO2) extinguishers are not recommended in fighting fires cooking oils, for example, as there is a danger that the cooking oil could be blasted/exploded over a wider area, caused by the pressure released with the CO2 on discharge.

CO2 extinguishers can be used in many environments, and can be particularly useful around electrical equipment because they don’t leave a residue that could damage the equipment such as in office spaces, server rooms and medical environments.

Careful consideration needs to be given to use in confined spaces due to the risk of asphyxiation.
